Mi welaf yn ei fywyd
Yn mywyd Iesu gwelaf

("Gan edrych ar Iesu")
Mi welaf yn ei fywyd,
  Y ffordd i'r nefoedd fry,
Ac yn ei angau'r taliad
  A roddwyd drosof fi;
Yn ei esgyniad gwelaf
  Drigfannau pur y nef,
A'r wledd dragwyddol berffaith,
  Gaf yno gydag ef.

'N ôl edrych ar ôl edrych,
  O gwmpas imi mae
Rhyw fyrdd o ryfeddodau
  Newyddion yn parhau;
Pan f'wy'n rhyfeddu unpeth,
  Un arall ddaw i'm bryd;
O! iechydwriaeth rasol,
  Rhyfeddol wyt i gyd.

Bendithion ar fendithion,
  Trysorau angau loes,
Grawnsypiau mawrion addfed
  Yn hongian ar y groes,
Sydd yn cwmpasu f'enaid,
  Rhinweddau mawr eu grym;
A minnau yn eu canol
  Heb allu d'wedyd dim.

Yn mywyd Iesu gwelaf
  Y ffordd i'r nefoedd fry,
Ac yn ei angau'r aberth
  A roddwyd drosof fi;
Yn ei esgyniad gwelaf
  Drigfanau pur y nef,
A'r wledd dragwyddol berffaith
  Gaf yno gydag ef.

gwelir:
  Angylion doent yn gyson
  Bendithion ar fendithion
  Fy Nhad fy addfwyn Iesu
  Mae'r fath feddyliau mawrion
  Ni fuasai gennyf obaith
  'N ol edrych ar ol edrych
  Pwy rydd im' falm Gilead?
  Yr Iesu adgyfododd

("Looking upon Jesus")
I see in his life,
  The way to heaven above,
And in his death the payment
  That was given for me;
In his ascension I see
  The pure residences of heaven,
And the eternal, perfect feast
  I shall get there with him.

After looking and looking,
  Around me there is
Some myriad of new
  Wonders enduring;
When I am wondering at one thing,
  Another comes to my mind;
O gracious salvation!
  Wonderful thou art altogether.

Blessings upon blessings,
  The treasures of the throes of death,
Large, mature grape-clusters
  Hanging on the cross,
Are encompassing my soul,
  Wonders of great force;
And I in their midst
  Unable to say anything.

              - - - - -

In the life of Jesus I see
  The way to heaven above,
And in his death the sacrifice
  That was given for me;
In his ascension I see
  The pure residences of heaven,
And the eternal, perfect feast
  I shall get there with him.
